WHAT IS HENNA?
The way we are using the word henna, is referring to its use on the skin to create designs. It is a non-intrusive body art, only coloring the top layers of skin. Henna paste is a leaf paste made with dried crushed leaves of the henna plant. It goes on the skin green, dries a dark brown, looks bright orange when first removed from the skin, and over a 48 hours turns a dark orange-brown to a burgundy color. This can last several days to several weeks, depending on care. It is used to color the skin, condition and die the hair, cool the body, all uses proven through the many cultures who have used henna since ancient times.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Henna can last a week to several weeks depending on several factors like how long the paste was on your skin, the location of the henna, the temperature of the environment and your body, and more.

HOW LONG DO I WEAR THE HENNA PASTE ON MY SKIN?
The longer you wear the henna paste the better the henna can set, so any where from 4 to 12 hours. Some people sleep in it.

DOES WHERE ON THE BODY IT IS APPLIED AFFECT COLOR?
Skin had varying thickness, the thicker the skin, such as on the hands and feet, the deeper it can go.

DOES THE TEMPERATURE OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND MY BODY CHANGE THE COLOR?
Heat is a catalyst for henna, it brings out the deepest color.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY HENNA DESIGN?
Always remove the henna paste from the skin with lemon juice or olive oil. Always protect your henna design from water with olive oil. See care instructions page.
